Intensive Moscow's Attacks Cut Electricity Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities under attack in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have come under escalating strikes in the past few days

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to power cuts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were wounded while residents in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and encountered interruptions to water systems, per reports from local authorities.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, according to area administrators.

Moscow has intensified assaults on energy facilities over recent weeks, while officials has requested "concrete actions" from international partners to increase pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the United States, European nations and the Group of Seven - in supplying defensive weapons and applying restrictions," was stated in a social media post.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 rockets targeted the country's power systems, characterizing such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were working to repair systems.

A wave of strikes hit power facilities and civilian homes in the capital.

Several of the people hurt in the strikes on the capital have been transported for medical care, per statements from municipal representatives.

Local officials said the urban area came under heavy assaults overnight. A seven-year-old child was killed and three other people were hurt.

The assaults succeed evenings of air raids in the area, portions of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

The entire country is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to identify.

National leaders told reporters that Moscow was purposely seeking to damage the country's energy grid, with strikes already affecting fuel infrastructure.

Officials stated utility staff and government agencies were anticipating additional strikes.
